The Evil Bet Slot Review
Do you like comic books? If yes then chances are you’re going to love this slot by Mascot Gaming as everything is presented in the classic white boxes reminiscent of a graphic novel.
One could say that the visuals don’t include any intricate elements but allow us to disagree. As mentioned, the comic book style in which the symbols appear provides a unique character to the game. Sure, some may not like the horror style but we loved it. The scarecrow, the abandoned farmhouse, the dark sky, everything is right up our alley and we believe you’ll enjoy playing it as much as we did reviewing it. Also, let’s not forget to take note of the 4 locked chests found on the left side of the reel set.
The slot does share some elements with certain titles. Regarding the whole look, it resembles Hacksaw Gaming’s newly released “Bloodthirst” as well as Red Tiger’s “Bloodsuckers Megaways”. As for the comic-style symbol borders, it did remind us of NetEnt’s “Jack Hammer 2”.
So, who is this game for!? Let’s just say that not everyone will enjoy The Evil Bet. Some people just don’t like the horror theme when it comes to games, especially slots. We do believe that it will be cherished by a select few players who are really devoted to the nostalgic comic book experience.
How to play The Evil Bet
Just like some other slots we recently reviewed, this one was released in late 2021 and even though the visuals don’t represent that era, there is a certain charm about them.
Now, regarding The Evil Bet, the game follows the classic 3-row 5-column reel format. That said, there are not 10 but 15 fixed paylines which ups the chances of hitting winning combinations.
In terms of the user interface, everything is neatly placed at the bottom of the display. There are buttons allowing you to adjust the bet size, set up the autoplay function, change the round’s animation speed, or simply spin.
Are you a low or a high roller? Regardless of your budget, The Evil Bet will suit your pocket fine since the stakes start as low as 0.15$ and climb up to 30$ per spin. That said, this is a medium volatility game with a high hit rate (~35%) meaning winning spins, small and big, will occur frequently.
Adhering to the provider’s well-known pattern, the game offers just 13 regular symbols. These are the classic 10-J-Q-K-A followed by the witch, the monster, the zombie, the wraith, and the butcher. Last but not least, there is the hunter, the revolver, and the chainsaw. The special symbols are:
- Wild – The 3 regular symbols that can take on the role of the wild are the monster, the witch, and the hunter. These will substitute others to create or improve upon winning paylines.
- Scatter – Coming in the form of a bloody locked book, hitting at least 3 of those will trigger the free spins bonus mode.

The Evil Bet Features
Remember when we said that there are 4 locked treasure chests at the side of the screen. Well, let’s find out what these are all about.
Each non-winning spin will activate a new growing modifier. All active modifiers will be taken into account on the next winning spin. These are, in a fixed order:
The first three (wilds) will occupy the first, second, and third chest positions while the 4th will be replaced by the increasing win multiplier. So, for example, if you go 4 spins without a win you’ll get the 3 wilds and the 2x win multiplier but if you go 5 or 6 non-winning spins you’ll get the 3x and 5x win multiplier accordingly.
Hitting 3, 4, or 5 scatters will trigger the free spins mode awarding 10 initial free spins. Free spins can be retriggered during the bonus mode.
The free spins will be played with the growing modifiers that are active during the spin that triggered the feature. For example, if you go 3 spins without a win and trigger the bonus at the 4th spin you’ll get 10 free spins with all three wilds but no win multiplier.
The bonus can be purchased at different prices according to the active growing modifiers.
