Playtech History

In 1999, the company  was first launched in Tartu, Estonia, where they were founded by a group of entrepreneurs from the casino found there. This included people who specialised in engineering and multimedia company practises to get a clear plan on what to do. Their first casino license was then gained in 2001 at the end of the year, opening up to players within Tartu.

2004 was when they tackled the online casino gambling market and introduced iPoker, a collection of slot game products that was said to be the world’s largest poker network. With this success, it wasn’t until 2006 that saw their biggest accomplishment, with the introduction of numerous new software projects. They began trading on the AIM market, launched Bingo Broadway, started Playtech Academy for recruitment and acquired e-marketing for their poker network.

Once Mor took over 2007, many successful casino operators began signing on with them including William Hill PLC, Italy’s leading land-based operator, Snai, Gala Coral, Mansion and others. Over the past decade, almost all facets of online gambling have had the Playtech company involved in one way or the other, offering new services and resources for many other businesses. In 2017, their total shares reached the highest level they have been, marking their most successful milestone since they were founded.

There are over 600 slot game casino products included in their omni-channel company portfolio which can be accessed from various casinos and their own website. All these slot machines are HTML5-powered, meaning you can access them from any device you wish, including a tablet or smartphone. While there is plenty of original casino content for you to get involved in, many branded slots are also available. Here are the various different categories:

  1. Thanks to their partnerships with Warner Bros, you may recognise some familiar names –there is plenty of DC slot game content such as The Dark Knight, Superman and the Justice League.
  2. They house original software content too, based on classic casino slot game machines such as Jackpot Giant or Leprechaun’s Luck.
  3. They also have progressive jackpot slots to play, giving you more money to win in other volatile gaming products.

Playtech Slots Theme Guide

Because many casino slot game machines are products from different providers, you can expect a whole variety of different themes and new ideas and concepts. Playtech Vikings, for example, is responsible for making the Age of the Gods series. This franchise won many awards for its range of improved sequels that explored different mythologies and pantheons. Playtech Origins uses old-fashioned casino themes that explore the American concepts like White King and Buffalo Blitz. Psiclone Games work with Playtech to create more graphically-enhanced themes such as the popular Fairground Fortunes, mixing fantasy with gambling.

Game Features

A whole variety of bonus casino content and special feature plays can be used in many of these slot game products, with some that are improved with every provider instalment. Take the Age of the Gods series as an example, who not only have a unique mini game that matches each god, but also a number of jackpots with a chance to win. Some of them have bigger reel grids with bigger pay lines to win from, like Kingdoms Rise: Forbidden Forest slot which has up to 576 potential ways to win.

The way they utilise some of the reels can make for some serious excitement, like the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice slot. This title requires you to match up the Batman and Superman Wilds to face off against each other by staying on the reels and battling to get more combinations. More thrilling ways to enjoy gambling can be found through these higher-budget games, giving you more rewarding payouts because of it.

Progressive Jackpot Slots

Playtech have produced many progressive jackpots, some of them included in a game that already has more than one feature. The main one is the 1-in-4 jackpot bonus feature, which lets you win one of the four main prizes through a separate mini game which sometimes activates randomly. For example, the DC slots all have the DC Superheroes progressive jackpot game, where different colours must be matched to score either the Mini, Minor, Major or Grand jackpot feature.

The Age of the Gods Extra Power jackpot can be found in this series only, with a random spin ing up three identical tiles to reveal your prize. More variations can be found as you explore the browser, with all of them having some gimmick or special round to gain them.

Payouts and Volatility

Due to the sheer number of online slots available, you can expect to find games with varying degrees of difficulty.

The average RTP is hard to pinpoint as calculations feature a large range, with the lowest RTP being Adventures in Wonderland Deluxe with 88.00%. Luckily, many of the more popular titles to play are all set in excess of a steady 90%, with the highest RTP slot being Goblins Cave with 99.32%.

Many of the titles from the provider are also set to medium volatility, with some of the progressive jackpot game products set to high volatility.
