For The Realm Slot Review

Welcome to the mysterious yet exciting kingdom with lands full of various dangerous monsters. Get ready to fight them in order to protect the loyalty as well as the simple folks. For the realm!

Kicking things off with the graphics, let’s just say that nostalgia takes over in a matter of seconds. This is because both the background and the symbols look like an old video game. In fact, it did remind us of old-school Runescape. We are located at a forest opening leading to a remote wooden cabin but that’s it, there aren’t any other visuals worth mentioning other than the logo and the buy feature option found at the outer skirts of the screen.

The slot doesn’t actually bear much resemblance to any other games however the symbols and overall feel of the game reminded us of Stakelogic’s “Hero Clash”, a slot that, if you want to know, has an exceptionally high RTP.

Not sure who this game is for? Well, it depends on what type of slots you prefer playing in your spare time. If you are only keen on modern titles then you may be disappointed as this is designed with people in mind that grew up playing traditional RPG video games such as the one mentioned in the introduction. Still, you may enjoy it since it offers a cartoonish and fun theme.

How to play For The Realm

Founded back in 2018, having released a limited number of games, Mascot Gaming is slowly gaining popularity climbing the ladders of the iGaming and particularly the slot industry. This one is a great example of why it is such a great studio.

Just like the graphics, the way the game’s meant to be played is nothing but traditional with the reel set consisting of the classic 3-row 5-column layout. That said, the amount of paylines is increased to 15 rather than the standard 9-10 which is a great characteristic even though they are fixed.

The user interface also varies greatly. Despite the conventional laid-all-around options, everything is neatly located at the bottom of the screen allowing you to spin, adjust the bet size and spin speed, set up the autoplay function, or check the in-game menu for more information regarding the paytable and rules.

Stakes start at 0.15$ and go up to 30$ per spin making the slot an excellent choice for both low rollers and big ones. The medium volatility means that both little and large victories might occur at random intervals but generally speaking, the game has a pretty good hit rate.

To be honest, we were extremely lucky during our test and triggered both a big win and bonus mode in the first 5 spins but that doesn’t reflect the actual results anyone could get.

That said, the RTP is set at a somewhat average 95.4% with the maximum multiplier being 2,250x your stake which, using the allowed maximum stake comes out at around 65,000$. Not bad but not great either.

In total, For The Realm offers 12 regular symbols. These are split into two categories, the low-paying ones (10-J-Q-K-A) and the high-paying ones (humans, warriors, villains, monsters) while the special symbols are:

  • Wild – Represented by the shield, the symbol will count for any other (excluding scatters) to create or improve upon paying ways.
  • Underworld scatter – Appears as 2 horns and 3 of those trigger the Underworld Menace feature.
  • Dark Horde scatter – Appears as a couple of axes. Getting 3 will activate the Dark Horde feature.

For The Realm Features

Contrary to most other games with simple graphics, the one in question doesn’t lack bonus features or modes. In fact, it’s packed full of them. Let’s take a look.

For The Realm Underworld Menace - Dark Horde

The feature consists of 10 free spins during which the demon symbol, whenever it appears, turns into a wild reel, becomes sticky, and awards 1 extra respin. Each new demon symbol also turns sticky and awards another extra respin. However, they can only appear on the middle three reels.

The Dark Horde feature also starts with 10 free spins. Each dark horde symbol (orc, skeleton, mage) turns into a sticky wild and remains on the screen until the end of the feature. The features can be purchased for 21x and 17x the current stake respectively.

For The Realm Freedom Alliance Feature

Winning combinations of 4 or 5 freedom alliance symbols (old man, elf, warrior) will award 5 and 10 free spins accordingly. These play like base spins but all wins are tripled. Extra free spins can be won contrary to the 2 previously mentioned features.
