Zombie Town Slot Review
Get ready to be hyped out of this world in this brand-new game by Belatra Slots. Honestly, the first thing that got us into the groove was the incredible soundtrack which combines hard rock and disco vibes.
This isn’t your ordinary title. Taking place in a post-apocalyptic scenery you will notice multiple destroyed buildings in the background. Flames spice up the surroundings while the reel set itself screams spookiness as is decorated by bullet holes and blood splatters, let alone the ingeniously designed logo.
The slot has everything an apocalypse fan could ever ask for and in its way, especially thanks to the great acoustics, it differs from the competition. It reminded us of two great titles, Playtech’s “The Walking Dead” as well as the more modern aPOPalypse by AvatarUX (a subsidiary of Yggdrasil).
Who is this game for? It’s mostly designed with fans of gore in mind but audiophiles are going to love it straight away as well. The features, as you’re about to find out, are simple to understand and the overall gameplay can be enjoyed by almost any type of crowd. Let’s see how you can play it.
How to play Zombie Town
As always, Belatra Games didn’t let us down one bit. The slot plays great and the constant presence of wilds makes up for an exciting session. At the same time, it manages to keep things simple enough so that newbies and seasoned players can both understand and enjoy it.
The reel set’s mechanics follow the standard 3-row, 5-column arrangement seen in most slot machines. The 10 fixed paylines that the supplier has matched the gameplay with may not give you the option to “tweak the rules” but we don’t believe something like this is needed in such an enjoyable well-designed game.
In terms of the user interface, everything is identical as in all Belatra Games’ slots meaning the majority of the options are conveniently arranged in their own section underneath the main display. With a few clicks you can spin, configure the autoplay settings, adjust the bet size, or open the information table which is located near the top right corner of the screen.
Again, the game is suited for players of all skill levels because bets begin at 0.10$ and can reach 50$ per round. The volatility is quite high, higher than we’d prefer to be honest, making good payouts infrequent but more likely that consistent smaller ones. This means it can “make” you or break you before you realize it which brings us to the next point of our review, the RTP.
There are many symbols starting with the conventional Q-K-A (small value), moving on to the axe, bullets, and the burning car (medium value) while the highest valued ones appear in the form of a hand, raven, old lady, woman and a man who, to be honest, kind of looks like a young Elvis.
The special symbols are:
- Wild(s) – Represented by the 3-symbol high zombie, the wild can appear in the first reel only. Other symbols can play as wilds but only during the free spins mode.
- Scatter – The quarantine sign is assigned the role of the scatter. Getting 3 of those (or 2 of them while a stacked wild cover the first reel) will trigger the bonus mode.

Zombie Town Features
Regarding the game’s features, there is a simple yet very useful and potentially rewarding one we believe deserves a mention.
The first reel can be fully covered by the stacked zombie wild symbol. It will substitute for any symbol on the first reel in order to form or improve upon a maximum of 10 paylines.
As is customary with slots of this kind, 12 (initial) free spins are given when activating or purchasing the bonus mode. Instead of a special expanding symbol, you get the fully wild first reel. Retriggering awards 5 extra free games up to a maximum of 17 meaning you can only reactivate the feature once.
However, things aren’t as simple as you might’ve expected. You see, every time one of the 4 high-value symbols lands it will turn into a sticky wild and remain in position for the whole feature. This greatly increases the chance of a large payout.
Just so you know, you can purchase the bonus mode for the cost of just 33x your stake. Crazy value, if we may say so!
Following the classic Belatra Games pattern, a progressive Jackpot feature is indeed offered. After placing a set amount of money on the game you will gain access to a rewarding mini-game consisting of two wheels. Based on where you land you will win the associated prize. Hit the arrow and you will gain access to the second wheel. There sits the grand jackpot. Land on the according slice and you will win big.
