Right from the get-go you’ll be surprised by how detailed and crisp this slot looks. Beware not to jump from your seat (we did) when the old guy laughs at the intro of the game. That said, you better get ready to delve into a world of mischief and big wins!
At first, you’ll most likely be bamboozled by the amount of graphics on your screen. Except for the spooky crimson cave background filled with tombstones and bats, the elderly miner waiting at the right side of the screen will catch your attention, especially since he’s holding 2 pickaxes. What we found odd is that the logo of the game isn’t visible somewhere but that’s ok since something like that won’t affect our review.
The game shares similarities with well-known contemporary titles such as “Dwarf Mine” by Yggdrasil and, oddly, NoLimit City’s hits “Fire in the Hole” and “Misery Mining”. It’s not that it looks like the latter two but it surely fits the overall dark theme.
Who is this game for? We’ll give you a simple answer. Even though the fun but child-like spooky visuals would most likely be enjoyed by most we think those that will be keen on this title will be those who look for modern features and mechanics. Slots like this (i.e. Sweet Bonanza, Gates of Olympus) aren’t for everyone but they sure as hell are fun.
How to play Halloween Crystals
Admittedly, Halloween Crystals doesn’t resemble any other Belatra Games slot since it offers an enhanced experience through its unique-ish gameplay. If mine-themed slots are your cup of tea then this would be a great option for you.
Regarding the mechanics, the reels look a bit different than normal as they appear in a 5-row, 6-column layout. The game doesn’t feature the conventional payline system as wins are formed by at least 8 identical symbols anywhere on the screen.
In terms of the user interface, Halloween Crystals has a straightforward yet elegant control panel, as we’ve come to expect from Belatra slots. The majority of the options are conveniently arranged in their own section underneath the main game window. Just use the provided buttons to spin, set the parameters for the autoplay function, change bet size or simply view the table of information (found near the upper right corner of the window).
As for the symbols, you’ll encounter the conventional J-Q-K-A as well as various valuable gems each with a unique emblem on it (ghost, spider, candy, bat, pumpkin). The special symbols are:

Apart from the buy feature option, there aren’t any special features to note. Well, unless you count the tumbling symbols but this is more of a mechanic than a feature. Gamers can purchase the bonus mode by paying 50x (4 scatters), 100x (5 scatters), or 250x (6 or more scatters) the active base stake.
Regardless of how many scatters you get, you will be awarded 10 initial free spins. 3 or more scatters during the free spins award 5 additional ones up to a maximum of 300 total.
During each free spin, special bombs can drop randomly on the board. They can have a multiplier between 2x and 100x. If multiple ones appear then that round’s winnings are multiplied by the sum of the multiplier’s values. (i.e. if you get three bombs of 2x, 8x, and 50x the final multiplier for that round will be 60x).
The more scatters that trigger the free spins mode, the more bigger multipliers can appear.
