Realtime Gaming History

Software Launch. Realtime Gaming was launched in 1998 becoming one of the pioneers in the iGaming industry alongside other providers such as Microgaming and Playtech. Its launch was in Atlanta, Georgia where it was based before being acquired in the later years. Realtime Gaming slogan ‘We take gaming seriously’ has to date remained its mission thanks to the various casino games and market strides it has made in over 20 years. Its mission has seen the best talent with gaming passion employed, commitment to innovation realized, and longevity that has brewed experience.

RTG Controversy. RTG enjoyed success in the field that was not dominated by many providers up until the year 2004 when a big controversy hit them. The controversy popularly known as the ‘Caribbean 21 controversy’ saw a player win two huge prizes from two RTG-powered online casinos. In one casino, Hampton Casino, the player who was playing Caribbean 21 for high stakes, with a $1,000 deposit, won $1.3 million. The same player would go ahead at Delano Casino to win $96,000.

The controversy arose after Hampton Casino refused to pay the prize accusing the player of cheating by using a robot (automated playing program). While the game still boasted a small casino house edge, the ultimate prize had overcome the edge. A settlement was eventually reached with the player albeit with no details of the deal released. RTG went on to reduce the max bet size and eventually did away with the game.

RTG Purchase. The year 2006 saw the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA) passed in the US. The act would see most gambling platforms cease to accept US players and the future of online gambling was cast in doubt. This is viewed as one of the major reasons that led to the Realtime Gaming acquisition. In 2007, Hastings international BV acquired the provider and moved its headquarters from Atlanta, Georgia to Heredia, Costa Rica. This saw the company access other markets such as Costa Rica and Curacao.

With its presence in the above-mentioned countries, Realtime Gaming is fully licenced and regulated by the Government of Curacao.

With the PCs and mobile devices allowing the accessibility of products thanks to the use of HTML5 technology, players can either access the instant-play/flash version or the download version. The latter will involve downloading the software to access the products and it is more recommended for their top-notch graphics. However, loads of users prefer the mobile platform followed by the download version and instant-play version respectively.

Besides the graphics, themes, sounds, and the diverse collection offered, RTG also stands out for providing player bonuses, up-to-date information, new game releases, and a flexible affiliate program that enables aspects such as streamlined payments.

Realtime Gaming Slot Machines

Tons of slot games (online and land-based) are offered under RTG and this has been its main stronghold point since its inception. RTG slot games are attractive judging from their aspects and they standout for allowing users to play for free or for real money. The slots section can be accessed physically in the kiosks or online via desktop or mobile devices. Choose a title from either of the following categories:

Branded slots are simply games that have their theme inspired by popular TV shows, movies, musicians, music, and so on. RTG offers several branded slots including The Big Booper and The Three Stooges. To create further excitement, several slot tournaments are offered where good returns can be made therefore maintaining players.

Other top slots to play at RTG casinos include Fruit Frenzy, Aztec’s Millions, Achilles and Aztec’s Treasure.

Realtime Gaming Slots Theme Guide

From a quick look at the slot games offered by RTG, it is evident that this is one of the aspects they looked to get right. With a variety of providers improving their slots aspects each day, RTG is not left behind. The provider offers unique themes that keep players entertained and retained. Many of the themes are relatable and the diversity in them helps meet players’ preferences. They range from movie-themes on slots such as The Three Stooges, sports-themes, spaceship-themes, Ancient-Egypt themes, to Aztec-themes on games like Aztec’s Millions and Aztec’s Treasure.

Features

The features offered on RTG games pass as one of their major highlights. With the right combination of symbols on the slot games, players can trigger free spins which in some cases will have multipliers attached, bonus rounds are also in the picture, and to crown it, one can trigger a progressive jackpot from the slots.

Special symbols to keep an eye on while triggering the features are the Wilds and Scatters.

Progressive Jackpots

For their ever-rising payout, progressive jackpots are being sort-after in the iGaming industry. While RTG is not popular in this category, they have still offered progressives on their collection. One can enjoy top payouts on either of the following titles:

  • Spirit of the Inca – A 5-reel slot with 25 paylines offering several features including five progressive jackpots (Mini, Minor, Major, Maxi, and Grand)
  • Megasaur – A 5-reel slot with 20 paylines offering features including expanding wilds and a progressive jackpot

Payouts and Volatility

The payouts on RTG look appealing especially on the progressives where bettors can make life-changing fortunes. The normal slots have lower payouts but some fixed-jackpot slots have a max payout of up to 2000x (stake). RTG also scores highly for incorporating customisation tools that can allow players to set their payout levels on the games.

The products are also offered in different volatility and this can be viewed on the paytables. For efficient bankroll management, the volatility aspect should be considered. It simply explains how much and how often a payout can be realized. High-volatile games will give big payouts after a long spell with low-volatile games giving smaller payouts after a short spell.
