Unlike other slots from the Marvel series, this one doesn’t feature any scenes from the movies. Due to this one being a fairly old game, the visuals aren’t up to today’s standards. How to Play X-Men
The game consists of 3 rows and 5 reels with 25 non-fixed paylines. The controls can be found at the bottom of the interface allowing you to adjust the bet size, enable the autoplay function, enter the in-game menu, change the number of active paylines, and check out the paytable or spin.
X-Men features 6 low paying and 4 high paying symbols. The first is represented by Juggernaut, Cyclops, Sabretooth, Storm, Mystique, and Nightcrawler followed by Wolverine, Deathstryke, Magneto, and Professor X.
The slots special symbols are:
- Wild – The wild substitutes for all other symbols except for the scatter.
- Scatter – Represented by the X-Men logo, getting 3 of these symbols will trigger the Heroes vs Villains feature.
- Magneto/Professor X – These also act as extra wilds in the free spins during heroes and villains modes accordingly.

X-Men Features
Despite its age, the slot has quite a collection of features for its time. Let’s check these out one by one.
This feature is triggered when any hero symbols occupy the 5 positions on reels 2, 3, and 4 forming an “X” shape. This immediately pays 5x the current stake.
Getting 3 scatter symbols will trigger the feature, initially awarding unlimited free spins in Heroes mode.
Getting the Magneto wild to appear on reel 3 will trigger the Villains mode with 8 free spins. If all of these are played out then the feature ends. However, if you land the Professor X wild on the third reel the feature will revert to Heroes mode. This means that, in theory, free spins can be played infinitely.
Only heroes can appear in Heroes mode and only villains in Villains mode. That said, the X-feature isn’t available during the free spins.
All of Playtech’s Marvel slots are linked to four mystery progressive jackpots. The feature can be triggered randomly at any point during the session but your chances of triggering it are better the higher your stake is.
You will be welcomed to a different screen with a 4×5 grid of 20 squares. You will then start picking squares which will reveal one of the four progressive jackpots. Once you reveal 3 identical prizes then you will win the respective jackpot.
