Wild Weather Slot Review
Wind, air, thunder, and snow were all gathered together by Tom Horn Gaming so that a unique slot could be born. Wild Weather is a minimally designed game that is guaranteed to make you relax and take your mind away from stressful things going on in your life!
The game features one of the simplest visual styles we’ve ever encountered while writing a review. The background consists of an image showing a series of moving valleys and hills that are illuminated by the moonlight. At the sides of the reels, you’ll find payline indicators while on top of it you’ll see the game’s logo.
Regarding the mechanics, the game works like most other classic slots. That is, the reels start spinning altogether and come to stop individually in consecutive order with winning symbols becoming animated and triggering a short audio effect.
Weather-themed titles aren’t common in the slot industry which is why the only similar games we could think of were the “Seasons” series by SplitRock Gaming. You can check those out if you like but for now, let’s just focus on Wild Weather.
How to Play Wild Weather
The game consists of 3 rows and 5 reels with 9 fixed paylines that pay both ways, so technically there are 18 of them. The controls can be found below the main game window and you can use them to adjust the bet size, spin, enable the autoplay or max bet functions, or simply enter the in-game menu for further customization.
Wild Weather features 5 low paying and 5 high paying symbols. The first come in the form of different Celsius temperatures and are followed by the weather signs for wind, cloud, rain, snow, and storm.
The game’s special symbols are:
- Wild – The wild tornado is the slot’s wild symbol. It substitutes for all symbols except for the scatters and expands vertically to cover the entire reel it lands on.
- Scatter – Represented by the sun symbol, getting at least 3 of these symbols triggers the free spins feature.

Wild Weather Features
Unlike most other games that were developed and published by Tom Horn Gaming, this one doesn’t feature a gambling mini-game nor does it allow players to set the number of active paylines they prefer. Still, the game makes up for it by enhancing its basic bonus mode with a highly rewarding mechanic. Let’s check it out!
Getting 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols will trigger the feature awarding 5, 10, or 15 free games respectively. The otherwise scatter symbol acts as an expanding wild during the free spins.
When the sun symbol lands anywhere on the reels, the expanding Mega wild is activated, filling a 2×2 square of symbols around the wild. This may sound like the ideal free spins bonus feature but don’t get your hopes up just yet because there is a catch.
You see, the free spins can’t be retriggered during the feature which means that you are stuck with the number of free spins you originally won from the base game spin that triggered the feature.
That said, we’d like to state that we found the slot to be incredibly balanced since the hit frequency is high but the cost rate of the symbols is pretty low. Still, we managed to hit the free spins feature 3 times in our first 100 spins so we ended up on a profit.
