Razortooth Slot Review

Launched in 2015, Razortooth is a slot machine which is set in a bygone age, when sabre-toothed cats stalked the Earth. With rival developers all having their own take on animal-themed games, and a few even dipping their toes into the prehistoric animal genre, Quickspin had to have a crack at the genre for itself. Razortooth is the result.

Quickspin has not gone above and beyond with this release. The game is enjoyable, but it is not brimming over with prizes or features. Razortooth is not as richly rewarded as IGT’s Siberian Storm, or as funky as Cats, but it is very much feline-themed and has a few different ways to reward you.

Randomly triggered goodies, fully wild reels and 243 ways to win are just a few of the perks you can expect to see in this release. Throw in the fact that it is a medium variance/volatile game, and Quickspin could be on to a winner. Let us find out more…

How to Play Razortooth

As with most 243 ways to win slots, you are not going to be able to alter the paylines in this game. While many other titles which feature 243 paylines have bets costing at least 0.30 a spin, the minimum stake in this Quickspin game is just 0.25 a spin, so you are getting something of a deal there. Maximum bets are capped at 100.00 a turn.

The only disappointing thing about this medium variance slot is the so-so non-progressive jackpot, which is only worth 300x a bet.

However, the above-average RTP of 96.69% does ensure that wins are fair. The wagering menu features bold buttons which makes Razortooth ideal for mobile users.

Plenty of prehistoric animals turn up on the reels of this game, and these make up the better paying symbols in the game. The role usually occupied by the high playing card symbols has instead been hijacked by gemstones, resulting in smaller wins if they appear on the reels.

As this is a proper 243 ways to win slot, you do not need to land symbols on paylines. Instead, just get them next to each other on consecutive reels to bag a prize.

  • Wild – Appearing as the game’s title logo, this substitute emblem can replace all other icons save for bonus symbols. They can show up anywhere on the screen and can appear stacked, too, which should help you pocket a prize or two when you play, especially given the 243 ways to win game structure.
  • Random Wild – Wild symbols can appear as generic icons on the reels. However, with a bit of luck, you will trigger a random wild bonus in the game. This occurs out of the blue and will see Razortooth claw up three substitute icons on the screen.
  • Bonus Symbol – The rather dull bonus symbol appears as a moon. This gold-rimmed icon needs to appear three times on the screen to trigger Razortooth’s only bonus round. These can appear on the first, third and fifth reels.

Savage Wild Free Spins

Once activated, you will get three free games to enjoy. On every single one of these spins, you can expect to pocket two special wilds. These appear as expanding wilds.

They dominate the entire reel upon which they appear and are your quickest way of pocketing a win in this otherwise simple game.
