Not just Asian culture but Japan’s, in particular, is exciting as it is filled with myths and legends one could only dream, or better put, have a nightmare of. Luckily, this isn’t the case here as all those scary things turn into dust causing a flood of riches.

Ninja Hero Goemon is a game that goes down out in the dry wilderness during the fall which you can tell by the plethora of leaves floating in and out of the screen. Goemon roughly translates to the guard of the five doors and refers to the old legend of a ninja who stole from the rich and gave to the poor, the same as Robin Hood. The name also appears written on lamps located on the upper part of the display. The rest of the aesthetics is comprised of Japanese flowers and painted walls.

The slot offers RPG characteristics paired with turn-based combat during the bonus modes. This reminded us of Stakelogic’s hit title “Hero Clash”. Sure, the visuals reminded us of great old games like Koi Princess and 88 Fortunes but this slot retains a unique character.

Let’s just say that not everyone will like this game so who is it exactly for? It is constructed in such a way that fans of modern (video) games will most likely find it to be right up their alley. The fighting mechanic and the potential for huge wins will surely attract a big portion of players looking for a game with Asian cultural elements and this one hits the right spots.

How to play Ninja Hero Goemon

As is almost always the case, slots developed by the Golden Hero studios never lack a unique character and this game seems to fit the theme. It would be an excellent choice for most players in search of a wholly different yet potentially very rewarding experience.

Regarding the way the game’s meant to be played, it consists of 3 rows and 5 columns full of Japan-inspired symbols that pay 30 ways. This is a nice touch if you think most games depend on bonus modes to pay well while this one surely does not.

Also, somewhat different is the user interface. Even though the controls are located at the bottom of the playing area, they are divided into two sections, one of which has the must-have buttons (spin, bet, autoplay) and the other which contains the slot’s information and gameplay adjustment option.

Bets start at 0.30$ and can climb up to 90$ per round. Due to the fact this is a medium volatility game, wins, big and small, will occur at a normal frequency. To be honest, during our test we triggered the bonus mode on the first spin and it returned 800x our stake so we are kind of biased when we say that we strongly believe it’s a must-play!
