As we’ve said in another review, “vision” and “philosophy” are the two defining characteristics of the Armenian game studio. Peter and Sons created an interesting video slot that pushes the boundaries of creativities. Johnan Legenderian is meant to be played by both newbies and experienced players, something reflected by the wager limits as well.
With 10 paylines and a typical 5×3 grid structure, the slot machine offers plenty of potential for winning combinations.
The user-friendly interface makes it simple for players to change their wagers and spin the reels. However, most of the controls are neatly placed in a separate compartment located below the main game window with the only exception to this being the bright red spin button found on the reel set’s right side.
As mentioned before, it is logical to assume that the game was created with both lowballers and high rollers in mind given that bets begin at 10 cents and go up to 50 dollars per spin. If you manage to land at least 3 scatters in a single spin you will be awarded 10 free spins. At the beginning of this mode, one of the regular symbols will be randomly selected to act as a special expanding symbol for all the free spins to come. (like the Book of Dead FS mode).
Whenever these symbols land, provided there are enough of them to create a winning combination, they will expand covering up the entire reel. They pay on all paylines without needing to be in adjacent positions.
You can retrigger the bonus unlocking an extra expanding symbol but you won’t be awarded 10 additional free spins. Instead, the free round counter will reset back to 10.
It may sound like a relatively minor feature yet credit must be given where credit is due. Remember the scatter collection bar we mentioned in the previous section? Well, this consists of 770 compartments meaning you’ll need to hit 2-scatter spins 385 times to fill it up completely.
That will unlock the Super Free Spins mode which is almost the same as the basic ones with the exception that every retrigger awards 10 extra spins instead of resetting the counter.
