Interstellar Attack Slot Review
We don’t know about you but the sole reason we wanted to review this game was its reel mechanics. As you’ll see later on, things are different than anything else you’ve played but is this a good thing? Let’s find out!
The background is split into two sections with the first one showing a pixelated black hole and the other one consisting of a voxel-styled Saturn-like planet. Other than these, the rest of the space is complemented by stars with “asteroids” appearing in the form of symbols right on the reels. At the sides of the reel set, you’re going to find two indicators but more on these later on. The logo of the game is only displayed on the control interface.
Moving on to the mechanics, this is where things get interesting. Instead of the classic reel after reel spinning model, here the symbols will fly in and land on random positions on the board.
We didn’t think a small studio like High 5 Games would offer a slot experience like this but we were gladly surprised. However, if you find this concept interesting then we’d like to recommend a couple of space-themed games as well. These are NetEnt’s Starburst and 2027 ISS by Endorphina. For now, let’s see what Interstellar Attack has in store for us!
How to Play Interstellar Attack
The game consists of 5 rows and 5 reels without any paylines. Instead, wins are formed by spaceships shooting at enemies without an asteroid stopping their shot midway. These spaceships randomly appear on a row located below the main reel set.
As with other slots from the same developer, the controls can be found scattered throughout the screen allowing players to adjust the bet size, enable the autoplay function, enter the in-game menu, or simply spin.
Interstellar Attack features 10 paying symbols in total. The first come in the form of spaceships followed by the single and the double asteroids as well as the four enemy aliens.
The game’s special symbols are:
- Scatter – The scatter will appear above the reels. Shooting it triggers the free spins feature.
- Power-up symbols – There are 4 power-up symbols, each with a different effect.

Interstellar Attack Features
This game is very confusing to understand but we’re going to try our best and reduce its loads of rules into a small section. Let’s get to it!
Under the main grid, you’re going to find an extra special row on which the spaceships land. Once landed, a spaceship will shoot for asteroids. These are accumulated in the power-up meter (left indicator).
When the spin-crease meter (right indicator) has been filled, the crystal symbols on the grid are upgraded and award the corresponding payout.
When the power-up meter is full, you shoot the row bomb symbol which destroys all symbols on that row, awarding a diverter or a 10x multiplier.
The scatter symbol can appear floating above the reels. Shooting it during the base game will trigger the Interstellar Attack feature awarding 10 free spins during which power-up symbols will be randomly placed on the reels. The free spins consist of 6 levels, each one coming with a special payout.
