Halloween Slot Review
Halloween is, of course, themed on the famous movie of the same name. Officially licensed to Microgaming, this slot has the music, the graphics, and the features to make for a very impressive game. It may not have the scare or fear factor that you might associate with this franchise, but the game is no less exciting because of it.
There is an abundance of Halloween, horror, or scary-themed slots out there for you to play. However, this Microgaming game closely resembles other movie-themed titles, rather than those games. For instance, there are similarities between Halloween and the Psycho slot. You could even compare this release with the From Dusk Till Dawn game.
Halloween incorporates many of the elements of that 1978 cult-classic into its design, including the famous house, the iconic logo, and star characters which include Laurie, Loomis, and others. In fact, the only person who appears to be missing from the reels is the slasher-star himself, Michael Myers.
How to Play Halloween
Microgaming has mixed things up a bit with the wagering menu in this game. Their conventional betting menu is gone in favour of something smaller, and far more mobile-friendly. Despite being a 5-reel, 50-line game, you are not going to be able to alter the number of paylines you bet on.
Bets themselves range from a floor of 0.50 up to a ceiling of over 500.00 a spin.
Halloween is a medium volatile game, with a top RTP rate of 97%. This is considerably more than most other Microgaming slots. The high-value symbols are the characters themselves, with Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie worth substantially more than the rest.
Other notable symbols to look out for include:
- Wilds – The traditional Halloween logo (the scary pumpkin with a knife) is the game’s wild, and it can replace all, save for scatter symbols.
- Scatters – Scatters appear as red and yellow wheels with “bonus” written on them. Three or more gets you a spin on the Trick or Treat Wheel.

Halloween Slot Features
You will notice that the setting for this game is a house. On each spin, the pillars of the porch tend to move. This is known as the Wandering Reels mode. The porch will cover three reels at once on any spin. What this does is alter the array of paylines, and potentially provide colossal symbols. There will always be fifty lines, but the order they appear in is jumbled on every spin. The colossal icons are limited to the best-paying ones – namely Laurie and Loomis, Annie, and Lydia.
There is not much unique about this round, but it is still well worth triggering, all the same. Once activated, you will get a total of nine free games to play with. Halloween will then select one character from another fortune wheel to act as a colossal 4×3 symbol on the reels. Naturally, this can result in tasty wins coming your way with a bit of luck.
If you land the Boogeyman Bonus, you are in for a more straightforward, but equally as rewarding round. This involves selecting symbols as they appear on the screen to pocket cash prizes. A knife will terminate the round. However, a mask will give you a life, which you can use to prolong the round should a knife appear. Do not worry; it is a lot simpler than it sounds.
