Book of Gods Slot Review

Big Time Gaming may be best known for their MegaWays slots, but the Australian casino software provider has also developed a handful of other games. Take Book of Gods, for instance; this game is played over the popular 243 ways to win format. If the title does not give it away, the imagery will. This is one of many ancient Egyptian-themed slots that you can play online.

Book of Gods features gorgeous imagery, with the 5×3 sandy reels set amidst a Nile backdrop, with the pyramids of Giza peeking out from the sides. In terms of design, the wagering menu is quite like other BTG games. Another similarity worth noting is that this game uses similar features to Novomatic’s Book of Ra and Magic Mirror Deluxe. Moreover, there are similarities with NetEnt’s Twin Spin, too.

While you can take your pick of ancient Egyptian-themed slots on the net – and by and large, they all look alike – there is a case to be made for having a crack at this one, and we’ll explain why in just a few moments.

How to Play Book of Gods

One of the perks of playing 243 ways to win slots is that you do not need to land identical symbols on paylines. Just land them on adjoining reels, and that is enough to pocket a prize. At most, you can win up to 500x a bet on this game.

During the free spin round, you could magnify that to be worth something closer to 5,000x a stake.

Speaking of stakes, what can you expect to pay per spin? Most 243 ways to win games cost anything from 0.30 up to 0.50 a turn. At just 0.20 a spin, Book of Gods is something of a steal. Of course, you can raise your stakes to 20.00 a bet if you wish.

The medium volatile slot uses a combination of ancient Egyptian deities and high playing cards to deliver its wins. The special icon is also thematic.

  • Scatter Wilds – Having a scatter wild cuts down on the number of “bonus” symbols which can get in the way of a winning combo, so this is advantageous. Scatter wilds can dish out cash prizes worth up to 30x a bet.

Book of Gods Slot Features

Apart from the scatter wilds, which deliver wins and substitute for all other icons, there are no other special symbols. This is not an issue, though, as Book of Gods’ scatter wild will trigger a free spin bonus, and the other modes in the game are triggered randomly. They include:

Cloned Symbols

On each spin, the Book of Gods will open (to the left of the reels) and reveal an icon. This will be a Cloned Symbol for the spin. If the symbol appears in a winning combo, the reels those icons appear on will be “cloned” displayed the same image. You will then get a new payout based on that combination.

Feature Drop

Commonly found in games nowadays is the Feature Drop. This will allow you to buy the bonus right from the off. It can cost up to 80x a stake – the exact price is displayed on the screen – so it is costly. This method of triggering the free spin round is arguably too expensive to be enjoyable.

Feature Drop
Free Spin Bonus

Land the scatter wild (the Book of Gods) 3, 4 or 5 times to score 15, 20 or 25 free games. Here, one of the better-paying deity icons will be selected as the Cloned Symbol. You can land additional spins by acquiring more scatters on the reels, too.

If you manage to retrigger the round three times, you can expect all the ancient Egyptian god icons to become cloned emblems. This is the mode that gets you closer to the 5,000x a bet prize.
