Vampire: The Masquerade – Las Vegas Slot Review

Setting the mood with a dark atmosphere and ominous tunes, this 18+ rated slot will let you catch a glimpse of the vampires wreaking havoc throughout sin city. Will you win big or be destroyed by the sunlight? Hit spin and find out!

When it comes to visuals, the moonlit city of Las Vegas covers the entirety of the background while the logo is located just above the game’s dashboard. This consists of an elegant border of gold and dark teal shades. On its sides, you’ll find a couple of spheres filled with red and blue fluids.

Mechanic-wise, this is your regular slot. The reels spin one at a time and only after they stop do some animations come into play. As expected, the game reminded us of Amatic’s “Vampires” and EGT’s “Vampire Night”.

The slot was published in 2017 by Foxium (powered by the Microgaming platform) and is filled with exciting features. The artistic choice deserves our congratulations as does the perfectly suited music. Now let us see how you can play it.

How to Play Vampire: The Masquerade – Las Vegas

The game offers the usual 3 lines and 5 reels format with an average number of 20 paylines. The controls can be found at the bottom of your screen. From left to right you’ll see the last win amount and your balance. Located next to these is the stake selection followed by the autoplay function and last but not least, the spin button. The sound and menu can be accessed via a small button placed left of the control board.

The bet limits start at $0.2 (or $0.01 per line) and are capped at $4 ($0.2 per line). This combined with the game’s low volatility makes it a great choice for new players as they are guaranteed to experience low but frequent wins.

The game features a wide array of detailed symbols. Starting with the low-paying ones there is a theater mask, the letter G, a compass, a letter opener, and a cross. Moving on to the high paying symbols you will find a couple of blood bags, a crime scene, a torn newspaper article, and a surveillance camera image. As for special symbols, there are:

  • Brass “W” – This acts as the slot’s wild symbol. It substitutes other symbols to create winning combinations.
  • The Vampire and the Prey – Both of these are 3-tall special symbols that award the player with 20x and 10x bet multiplier accordingly. If both appear the multiplier is 30x. These symbols can’t be substituted by the wild.
  • Pick me – This symbol portrays a scene of the prey being scared after seeing the vampire’s true intentions. It acts as a scatter symbol and it can activate the Pick Me bonus game.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Las Vegas Features

The slot’s bonuses consist of two main parts, the free spins, and the mini-game. This is how each one works.

Pick Me Bonus

The Pick Me Bonus game will be awarded once 3 of the corresponding special symbol appear anywhere on the reels. The mini-game consists of 6 rounds and the player has 2 chances.

On each round, the player will pick 1 out of 5 cards. 3 of the cards hide a money prize while the other 2 a skull.

If you pick a non-skull card you get the prize and move to the next round. However, if you pick a non-skull card you will be deducted a chance but also get a money prize equal to your current bet amount. The game ends once you reach round 6 or if you have no chances left.

In the final sixth round, the non-skull cards have a multiplier. If you pick a non-skull card then the total amount won during all rounds will be multiplied by the picked card value.

You will also be awarded the Bite award which is equal to 50x your total bet. Still, the Bite award won’t be multiplied with the picked card value.

Free Spins

There are three types of free spins the player can be rewarded with. Which one you get depends on the vampire and prey symbols.

If the full symbols appear together on the reels then the player is awarded a random amount of Blood (sphere with red liquid) or Discipline (sphere with blue liquid). Both have their respective bars indicating how full they are. Each bar is bound to a specific value which changes based on your bet. Once either of the bars fills one of the three free spins bonus games will be randomly activated.

The collected blood can correspond from 5-16 free spins while the discipline from 1-6.

Free Spins: Dominate Discipline

If the prey symbol lands on reel 5 it will be replaced by standard wild symbols. Before being replaced, the prey symbol can duplicate over the other reels up to 4 times resulting in a possible total of 15 wild symbols. During this mode, the prey symbol will always appear full size.

Free Spins: Fortitude Discipline

For every spin, 1-6 random positions will be replaced with the wild symbol.

Free Spins: Presence Discipline

On the first spin, 4 wild symbols will be placed in random positions. On each subsequent spin, the wilds will move to random positions. During this mode, the total number of wild symbols on the reels can’t be less than 4.
