Tarzan Slot Review
Microgaming does not normally go in for 3D animated graphics, but that is exactly what you will find with their Tarzan slot. Launched in 2016 and based on Edgar Rice Burrough’s character of the same name, the Tarzan game features heavy animation and takes a cartoony approach to its theme.
There are not too many Microgaming slots which compare in terms of imagery here. Even the theme itself is not overly common. Gameburger Studios (who have a distribution deal with Microgaming) have released Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar, and Octavian Gaming has a similarly themed release. For the most part, though, this Tarzan game stands out and is certainly original.
Players may very well like the touch of uniqueness that Microgaming has brought to this game. It has been designed using the same type of 3D graphics and animation that we would expect to see in a typical BetSoft slot. Apart from its cartoony look and feel, though, what else can the game offer?
How to Play Tarzan
Tarzan is played over 5 reels and 40 paylines. Regrettably, Microgaming does not give you much room to manoeuvre when wagering. All the lines are fixed, and while flexible coin denominations allow you to alter your stake widely, you are still looking at minimum and maximum stakes of 0.40 up to 40.00 a spin. This game is deemed to be a medium variance release.
The better-paying symbols (characters and animals) can appear stacked on the reels of this game, while the lower-paying icons (namely fruits) appear as singular symbols. To get any sort of value for money here, you will need to land those stacked symbols. Even then, prizes are a little on the light side, capped at 20x your stake for five wilds on a line.

Tarzan uses a Wheel of Fortune to trigger its side-games. There are three features to look out for, and which one you get is entirely down to dumb luck. The number of scatters you acquire in the base game can play a part in determining how “valuable” your bonus round is, so the number you get does still serve a purpose.

You will win a fixed cash prize based on the number of scatters which triggered the feature. Prizes include 1x your bet for two or three scatters, 10x your bet for four scatters, and 100x your bet for all five of them.
Do not be tricked here – there is a jackpot in Tarzan, but this slot’s top prize is non-progressive. It is worth 300x your bet if you landed three scatters, 400x your bet if you bagged four, and a top prize of 1,000x a bet if you snapped up all five.
Here, you will get to choose from twelve hippopotami. You’ll get at least two picks (depending on the number of scatters you acquired), and behind each will either be an instant cash prize and the chance to pick again, or a cash prize and a collect sign which ends the round.
The final bonus, this round offers 12 free spins. These spins use Microgaming’s popular Rolling Reels feature, as well as Growing Wilds. Rolling Reels sees winning icons removed and replaced by new ones, while an increasing multiplier is added to each consecutive win.
By Growing Wilds mode extends the size of your stacked wilds by one per spin. They can rise to 15 symbols tall on each reel.
