Jurassic Park Slot Review
Inspired and based on the 1993 box office movie of the same name, this is one of the best, if not the absolute best, slot games based on films ever created. So get ready because this session is going to be a walk in the park, Jurassic Park.
Starting with the visuals, the game takes place deep inside the jungle of the island while the reel set with all its symbols appears in the form of circular balls. The background is constantly scrolling in order to reveal more details about the forested area while the logo of the game prevails at the top of the screen.
As for the mechanics, the game works like most other classic slots. That is, the reels start spinning altogether and come to stop one after the other in consecutive order. Winning symbols become animated and trigger an audio effect.
This isn’t the first Jurassic-themed slot produced by Microgaming as back in 1999 “Jurassic Jackpot” was released and later on 2017 and 2021 the slots Jurassic World and “Jurassic Park Remastered” were published. So if you find the genre interesting make sure you check these titles out as well. For now, though, let’s focus on the game in question!
How to Play Jurassic Park
The game consists of 3 rows and 5 reels with 243 ways to win. The controls are found at the right side of the interface allowing the player to adjust the bet size, enable the autoplay and quick spin functions, enter the in-game menu, or simply spin.
Jurassic Park features 5 low paying and 4 high paying symbols. The first come in the form of different dinosaurs followed by characters from the movie.
The game’s special symbols are:
- Wild – The wild symbol is represented by the game’s logo. It substitutes for all regular symbols except for the scatters. It appears stacked on all reels.
- Scatter – The slot’s scatter symbol is represented by the mosquito fossil. 3 or more of them trigger the free spin selection.

Jurassic Park Features
Even though the game was released in 2014 it was far ahead of its time since it offers multiple features that were rarely seen on slot games back then. Let’s check them out together!
Upon activation, one of 5 free spin features is randomly awarded. Players can choose which mode to play but only after 25 free spin triggers. The free spins and the T-Rex alert mode can’t be triggered at the same time. Each feature’s special symbol appears stacked during the free spins. All features award 12 free spins.
The 5 free spin features are:
- Tyrannosaurus Rex – Wild reels. The T-Rex can appear during the feature and turn up to 5 reels wild.
- Velociraptor – Multiplier and split wilds. Wilds can split into two to create better winning combinations. A 6 of a kind wild win pays 2x the 5 of a kind win. Multiplier wilds award a random multiplier between 4x and 6x.
- Triceratops – Running wilds. A wild is added to the wild stack on every free spin. On any non-winning spins, the full stacks will be held in place while the remaining reels respin. At the same time, partially stacked wilds will nudge up or down to form full stacks.
- Brachiosaurus – Mystery multiplier. All wins are multiplied by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 6x. The mystery multiplier is active from the first spin to a random number of spins.
- Dilophosaurus – Winning wilds. The Dilophosaurus appears randomly and turns symbols into wilds. These are held in place and substitute for other symbols just like a regular wild symbol.
This feature can be triggered at any point during the base game. Your chances to win are increased as 35 extra wilds become part of the reels. Alert mode is active for 6 regular paid-for spins. During the feature, the bet size is capped at the current level and if you reduce it, the bet size for the duration of the feature will be reduced as well.
