How to play Book of Muertitos
EveryMatrix is one of the major software producers in the iGaming sector that also happens to be Spearhead Studios’ parent company. The studios launched successfully back in 2019 and just like the majority of their hit titles, didn’t “go off” until mid-2021 which was when the game in question got published as well.
Now, regarding the actual game, Book of Muertitos offers a familiar layout of five reels and three rows, providing a classic slot experience. The game features ten fixed paylines paying left to right.
If you play it on a mobile device, all of the controls are conveniently situated at thumb distance. Apart from the top right corner mute button, all choices on the desktop version are easily accessible and neatly stacked on the right side of the screen.

As previously stated, this particular title belongs in the book-themed slot category meaning that bonus features aren’t something we haven’t seen before. This applies to most cases but here, there is a catch! Let’s check it out.
Hitting at least 3 scatters will award 10 free spins. The feature can’t be retriggered. Before the spins begin, one of the 9 regular symbols will be randomly chosen.
Every time that symbol appears, provided it can form a winning combination, it will fully expand to cover the entire reel. However, that’s not all. Here, instead of retriggering the feature, the wild (gold book) has a special attribute.
Whenever it appears it will expand to the whole reel as well but each instance of it will be assigned a random 1x, 2x, or 3x multiplier. They are also summed and applied to the current spin’s win. The maximum total is 27x hence the top prize of 27,000x (the highest paying 5-of-a-kind normally pays 1,000x).
