Hong Kong Tower Slot Review

The Hong Kong Tower is known for the top quality light shows it puts on during special occasions. Combine this with amazing music and the result is a one in a lifetime experience. Spin the reels to check it out yourself.

After a small trailer video, the player is welcomed to the actual game. The reels occupy most of the available screen space. In the background, we can see a static picture of the Hong Kong Tower with a few other city buildings in the distance.

Mechanics-wise, the game works as most classic slots. The reels start spinning altogether and stop individually in consecutive order. As per usual, symbols participating in winning paylines become animated and trigger a special audio effect.

The art style is vastly inspired by East Asian culture which reminded us of other similar slots such as Red Tiger Gaming’s “Chinese Treasures”. If you are looking for that type of slot then we recommend you check it out. For now, let’s see how Hong Kong Tower is played.

How to Play Hong Kong Tower

The game has 3 rows and 5 reels with 99 fixed paylines. The controls can be found at the screen’s corners allowing the player to spin the reels, set autoplay parameters, select bet size, or enter the in-game menu to get access to more customization options.

Clicking on the bet selector you’ll be presented with four predefined betting strategies you can use. Once activated, each of these will automatically adjust your bet size based on your current bankroll and last few spin results.

Bets start at $0.20 and go up to a maximum of $100.

Hong Kong Tower is a high volatility slot with a hit frequency of 20.3%. That said, the highest possible payout is 3,016x or $301,650 if you’re using the biggest available bet size.

The game consists of 5 low paying and 4 high paying symbols. The first are represented by what appears to be the four core elements of the universe which are fire, water, air, and earth with the addition of an extra yellow “element” which, based on the game’s visuals, we will be referring to as electricity. The high paying symbols are a bonsai tree, a pink lotus flower, a diamond, and the lucky number seven.

The slot’s special symbols are:

  • Mystery – The mystery symbol will randomly transform into one of the other symbols currently present on the screen. If any of them transforms into a bonus symbol it overrides all other bonus symbols and immediately counts as 5 bonus symbols. This triggers the Wheels of the Sky bonus game with two extra lives.
  • Bonus – The bonus symbol acts as the slot’s scatter symbol and it can appear on any reel. Getting at least 3 triggers the Wheels of the Sky bonus game.

Hong Kong Tower Features

The game doesn’t have any features to offer other than the Wheels of the Sky bonus game which if you’re lucky enough can turn out to be extremely rewarding. Let’s check it out.

Wheels of the Sky

The bonus game is triggered when you hit 3 bonus symbols. Hitting 4 will start the bonus game with an extra life and hitting 5 will start the bonus game with two extra lives.

There are 3 different wheels, each one placed on a higher level as it contains bigger prizes than the lower ones. Each wheel consists of 7 bet multiplies and a level-up prize which grants you access to the next bigger wheel. Since there are only three wheels the last one contains 8 bet multipliers.

The prizes are:

  • First Wheel – 2x-20x bet multiplier and level up
  • Second Wheel – 5x-100x bet multiplier and level up
  • Third Wheel – 10x-500x bet multiplier

Every time you spin the wheel and stop on a bet multiplier you receive it. If you stop on an already claimed prize, one life will be deducted. If you level up and move to any of the next two bigger wheels, any remaining lives are brought over. The game ends when you don’t have any lives left.
